Then you best chill. Cause if you become a whislte blower, you better run.wore out, taxihacker66 and Chinatown Thank this.

Not even a little bit. If the company is actually telling you to do this you need to report this to whatever state law enforcement agency handles CMV enforcement in your area.
Being "on the same team" is one thing but being instructed to knowingly break the law is something entirely different. I personally wouldn't want to work for a company like this regardless of the pay. God forbid something were to happen while you were driving off the clock you'd be in a world of ####. But if you do intend to keep your job there are "whistle-blower" laws that should protect you from retaliation. At least in theory.Blaskowitz Thanks this. -
Yeah, why rock the boat? Do what they want then. It's no skin off your back if they get popped.wore out, Diesel Dave and Chinatown Thank this.

Rock the boat?..... I really don't like to donate time....
Dominick253 and Blaskowitz Thank this. -
"They" are not the one who gets the OOS order or the ticket when the truck gets stopped by some local yokel trying to meet his quota.Blaskowitz Thanks this.

We use E-logs..... They say because we lease our trucks and it is such a short distance it doesn't matter

It seems to me that you are getting paid percentage on your loads since your OTR, so I don't understand your problem, did your company say they will pay you separate for load or unloading ? Logging off as the company wants you to do, seems like just giving you more time to be on duty(driving time) I don't see a problem unless your getting paid hourly.
-
the pay and beneifts are great but he's tired of donating his time.
Are you working for free while your in that truck going from the yard to destination and waiting for 3 hours to get loaded and driving back at the end of the day? Or are you on some type of hourly pay?
What kind of operation is this?
Local haulers don't do logs unless their day exceeds 12 hours. They don't report fueling or anything else. But fueling is done with the post trip. but some lazy drivers would rather fuel in the morning with supposedly a pre trip.
If they're on elogs. Then obviously driving time is getting logged. Is it not?wore out and Diesel Dave Thank this.
