Guessing its about the dipatching. Dedicated IC wouldnt have the option to decline a run, so in essence are company drivers in a leased to truck.

Might be now seen as a legal liability as they flly dropped the legacy IC side.

One thing that continues to bug me about this company is how tightlipped they are with future plans. Doesnt give a driver a good chance to weigh their options or do things the right way and secure other equitable employment. They claim they value us and hat we do, but cant give that modicum of respect.

They dropped that bomb on us only 4 days after I got my new truck. Another IC on our account just renewed his lease, too. Considering how little we really were getting paid on dedicated, though, it's for the best. I need to do more in my trucking career than see one distribution center.

Just curious what they gave as a reason.

It's clearly about money. Seen a couple good runs leave the choice board, only to become a dedicated account.

When you have company trucks involved and times get tight, the company will take care of their own assets first.

When I went in for my recertification in Dec i got into a conversation with someone who works behind the scenes and also does testing.
Basically was told we've been losing a bunch of accounts recently, mainly due to other carriers offering to do it cheaper.

Losing accounts is part of this business, we lose some we gain some SNI has been the lowest bidder before and will be again.

It's all about controlling costs with SNI.

And SNI has found a way for IC's to supplement the company to lower company costs even more.

Been doing this going on 18 years and this business as all businesses are cyclical.

If you look at the load board and see .65 cpm freight do you think SNI is hauling freight for these rates and losing money?

They're not add back the 35% we give them then add in the Logistics side % and the sales % then the cost they actually pay for the fuel as well as what they make off of us IC's from just the share of the fuel discount they keep when we use Pilot you can see how they are controlling costs and profiting from these "cheap" freight.

Either way I'm just trying to get a bigger slice of the pie any way I can.

I don't either but someone does haul them and it's probably company trucks which if that's the case then it also shows that we do directly compete with company trucks.

    I am 100% sure whipper you don't haul them.....LOL
