As I recall Red those loads originated from the evil Covenant. There was a LOT of top dollar stuff that got passed around to F2F drivers from that arrangement. It was never a bad thing as far as drivers were concerned but it is history.

It was during better times with a hotter spot market, for sure. I also recall hearing about F2F drivers refusing those loads, supporting your earlier posts about why some may have not worked out.

My only issue with Covenant is the same with any company that puts religion out there on the sign. If they're behind you, usually it's with both hands on your shoulders. Although in the case with my loads, there were no problems. But I said, that was only two in over a thousand. Since we're a reefer carrier and not running similar lanes as F2F, there haven't been many opportunities to do more loads.

Plenty of guys can cut it but why should I give 20% of a load to a company. If I have my own
authority, my own trailer and already book my own loads. What would they do for me for that 20% ? I'm not trying to be a SA . It's a legitimate ? of mine.

If you have all of that already, then F2F probably isn't for you unless you're looking for some of the freight we've been seeing lately that isn't available to fleets under a certain number of trucks. I remember when I first leased on Bill would talk about F2F being a stepping stone, and he'd be happy to see dozens of new companies come out of F2F as business partners leased on, learned the industry, and got their own numbers. I think that's still a great route for anyone to take that seriously wants to be an independent some day, but doesn't want to go there straight from being a company driver.

As a F2F O/Op for over 3 years Coal speaks the truth. Bad decisions hiring office personnel, just as O/Os, started the situation that F2F is in right now. Am I worried about F2F?. NO. Does it bother me that my pay is a day or two late? NO. I had 2 of the best weeks I've had in a year just these last 2 weeks. Leasing to F2F isn't much different than having your own authority and we all know how many of them fail. Trucking isn't easy nor for everyone, company driver,O/O,lease purchase or even brokers right now.

When you go to leasing on a lot of trucks beyond your one you'll quickly learn how many sad excuses are out here. Can't do simple routine paperwork. I'm surprised they can tie their shoestrings.

Some issues aside with the company one thing is abundantly clear. The drivers here we do a stand up job and have built a brand. People seek our trucks out. They will pass over random unknown one truck guys like you to load one of us. Sometimes even if it costs a little more. That's worth something. Although I will say I was never a fan of them going beyond 15/85. Of course it's their company so not my call on that.

For the main part is you aren't giving away 20 per cent, when you figure insurances and other costs of authority its much less, ,

We always encourage company representatives to post professional responses or rebuttals to complaints about their company. Most are able to do that without it appearing to be recruiting or advertising. So, feel free to post a response that is free of recruiting efforts or advertising and there won't be any problem. We want to ensure that all members can fully understand the situation from both sides.

I also think bill may mean no matter what he posts the naysayers will post what they want. Fact is, everybody hits a rough spot, and a few knuckleheads affect a small company worse than others, its a numbers game.
