As detestable as I find the likes of HireRight, until they are given a cease-and-desist order their service is indeed legal to whomever is willing to pay for it.

I understand that what they do is legal. Its my hope that a class action lawsuit hits them so hard they go out of business. Would be so sweet on many levels

If after one shoots oneself in the foot, is one obligated to limp?

I watched and listen to the video and i don't think it would be admissible in court. Not enough to substantiate who said what. That could have been the same person holding a conversation with himself.

I didn't listen to the video for more than a minute so I won't comment on the 16 year old, but Stevens might have fired you and rightly so for unlawfully recording that other driver. He could legally sue Stevens for putting you in the truck with him based on your actions. BUT that is just based on that min I watched. Had you started recording and said "hey I going to record your driving style, do you mind"? and he said "no" then I think you could throw out the unlawful recording,

    OH THE HORROR!
a foul mouthed unpleasant truckdriver !!!
you should either go to law school or get a bunch of experience in the trucking industry and a thick skin.
no company wants someone who is gonna try and start lawsuits at a drop of the hat.
you meet some real pos people in these trucks and warehouses and your not making it

Another useless law suit, that will go NO where. And If it had any potential, the law firm would be contacting the former and current employees of Stevens Transport. You soliciting other people on a public forum is NOT good for the case at all. Shows that the attorney does not want to spend any of his time on the case, as it is NOT a winnable case.

As far as the slander, you have presented NOTHING but your opinion that you were slandered...And stevens KNOWS what they can report and what they can not report to Hireright. You were a problem employee from the the view of the safety department... had to change trainers 3 times, reporting non trucking issue to safety...secretly recording meetings...
