I change my oil every 10K. Grease every 5k. I have always jacked the front end up to relieve the pressure on my spring pins when greasing. Usually there is a spot on the front of the frame that's suitable.

If I do it myself it cost about what half what it cost to fill the fuel tanks. Seem a premium service offered the other day for 264.00. Not that I would let petro touch mine. No more than that cost in the scheme of things I figure why skimp oil and filters are cheap insurance.

Oil and grease are cheaper than motors and drivelines.

It depends on your application, severe duty should be a closer interval.

I like 10-12,000 miles for a full PM service- oil, oil filters, fuel filters, grease chassis, and 5-6,000 for greasing chassis and close inspection. It's the common practice among those I know who get a million miles out of a motor and have minimal trouble running old trucks. (Mechanical through pre-emissions electronic)

Transmission and rear ends get new fluid every 250,000 miles.

I've been told that the newer ('14+) trucks allow a longer oil change interval but I don't have any experience with those.

A dealership should be able to give you service information about a given truck with a given drivetrain.
Bringing pizza, coffee, and/or a case of beer for the service dept. crew will likely grease the wheels and increase cooperation in that endeavor.

I change oil and filters at 15k and grease at 7.5k. Air filters every year, sooner when the black smoke gets thicker, and Change lube in tranny and rears every other year, approx 200,000.

I did something different when I setup my maintenance policy, I use OA results to determine when, it is averaging around 30k right now fleet wide, in between at 15, the filters get changed. the exception is the heavy haul trucks which get changed at 10k no matter what. I use synthetic (not a blend) on the trucks except the HH trucks, those are dino oil.

When it comes to greasing, I went to all automatic greasing systems, set the system up to lower the injection rate for the grease to save it (we were going through grease at what I thought was too high of a rate) and it has actually saved us a lot of money in the long run.

Call me crazy but every time I go to the NE I have a strange urge to grease the front end after I get back south.

My dad runs old iron and has less problems than most of the newer trucks. He just picked up a 1993 mack ch that runs like a top. Last of the real macks. My dad used to have a 2003 vision and that wasn't half the truck as the ch 600 series. Love the old e6/early e7 but I would never buy a newer mack-vulva

I change the oil and grease somewhere between 11,000 and 12,000 miles never going over 12,500 under any circumstance. I also grease at half oil change interval or 5,500-6,000 miles. Fifth wheel gets de-greased every full PM and clean new grease on it. DIY and save big money. There's no sense in throwing good money away on a premium shop rate to someone who will miss half your grease fittings and shoot abrasive grit up into the other half.
