This is why i work for big g...i live close to the 840 yard. Will not work for a company anymore where i cant drive to the yard within a reasonable time....less than 100 miles.
makes getting home easy and there are always loads waiting to go out when i report in after hometime.

From a daily production stand point, I agree. But their is a huge difference to me, between planned home time where you can schedule activities versus being dealt with like an LTL extra board driver. Being required to be available every morning and then not utilized is not ok. And they didn't pay me a dime. Company policy is no layover pay when left sitting at home. Hopefully this was almost all due to my former dispatcher. Like I said, just 1 month so far that has not been solid.4mer trucker Thanks this.

Can anyone tell me if this would be a good starter company for a newbie? I'm in the SE part of MA, but wouldn't mind doing northeast with a semi (did it in a 45 foot motor coaches for 14 years so not really worried about tight turns, shady areas in/around NYC, etc.) ..
I was also wondering if you guys have the silent interview", i.e., driver facing cameras? Lol
Any information on the physical aspect? At orientation? Sleep apnea testing? I'm "in shape" so to speak, if you consider a bit oval a shape of sorts
I was tested a few years back, but did not have any sign of it, and it was ruled out but it costed me to prove to my former company that I was good, so not thrilled if I'd have to go through all of that again or an agility test for that matter.
It's why I have knocked off Schneider and USX.
Thanks.
