The money claims are legit both in terms of cents per mile as well as average yearly earnings. However, they are both low compared with the rest of the industry in terms of pay for most LTL line haul drivers. Most companies pay line haul drivers over $0.60 per mile, and most of those drivers average over $90,000 per year.
My guess is this is an ad for Central Transport, so you would be driving junk and be treated like crap.FerrissWheel and Pintlehook Thank this. -
Never thought of Central, but I'm still voting for Estes. Isn't Estes at the lower end of the pay scale for LTL? And the ad stated something about newer equipment, I haven't seen any new Central tractors or trailers! Lol.
The suspense is killing me.

Craigslist for what city?
On a side note, this ad is EXACTLY what I was talking about with this post about saying .52cpm! They'll pay you half a cent per mile.
-
It actually could be central. They are hiring big here. I did two weeks with tjem last month before I relized just how bad it was and jumped ship. There equipment isnt worth my cdl.
Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
That may actually be right for Estes for starting pay for line haul. But I'm pretty sure they top out over $0.60. I'm pretty sure their pay is competitive except for the fact that their city drivers don't get overtime until they hit 55 hours.Pintlehook Thanks this.

it was in California, I've searched high and low, the ad has been removed

If it was Ontario/Jurupa Valley, Central freight has a yard there. So do another dozen companies, but they are there I know, them and thier rust buckets.
-
I believe it was in norcal near redding but I looked through out the state just in case I was mistaken. seriously, the ad was gone. though I didnt spend hours in search of, I
deleted my screen shots with the location
I look all over the west coast from time to time, as you know it doesn't matter where they are based, they'll post an ad if its in their hiring area, relocation ads are there as well.Last edited: Mar 10, 2016
FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Come to think of it, I dropped a loaded trailer in a central freight yard not long ago, if recall the color correctly, they had new yellow day cabs, the yard was set up like conway yrc abf etc.
I mentioned the shape of the 2016 trailer I was dropping off in hopes of getting something just as nice.
receiving shrugged at nice and said the
emptys are back there, grab what ever you want... oh, ok..
