What are they paying per mile now?
I was also told that haz mat & Twix are required but rarely used (twice a year maybe). Any truth?

Pay is on Oakley's site... it varies by division. Current surcharge is $0.06 per mile. Also, short haul pays percentage. Hopper is lowest, dump is next higher, and pneumatic pays the most. Haz-mat and TWIC are required. Haz-mat is only used occasionally and TWIC is required by some shippers/ receivers. I've been here 6 months and only pulled 1 haz-mat load.
Brian Gilbert, pusherman and trucker91 Thank this. -
LOL! I have only pulled 1 haz-mat load too! have never used my TWIC card, not many people even know what it is.
trucker91 Thanks this. -
I'm still looking to go to oakley. I'm just waiting to get my truck repaired. The tensioner pulley broke and caused me to run my truck hot. I've replaced the thermostat, water pump, and water pump housing and it still overheating. Hopefully W.W. Williams can now figure it out. They are saying it's possibly the head or head gasket.
I have to get my hazmat and twic card still so once my truck is repaired I hope to start at Oakley. -
Dang and Cat is sure proud of the thermostat housing for sure!!!!just replaced it and the radiator myself!!!
-
My water pump housing was $1600. But, it came with a new water pump and fuel filter housing. My thermostat was only about $160. Freightliner said everything I needed was in the box and when I got home there wasn't a gasket. I had to drive back abouto 80 miles to freightliner to buy a $2-$3.00 part. I was furious.

Cat charged me 870.00 for both sides of the housing, thermoststs and gaskets. this is on a 6NZ,

That's the good cat. My last cat I owned was a accert.
I'm hoping that W.W. Williams repairs my truck faster than what they said. They said that it would take 10 days before they can get it in the shop. I don't really want to be down 2 weeks. I'm hoping it's sooner so that I can start making some money at Oakley. It's hard to catch back up when your truck goes down for a couple of weeks. -
Guess being an Indian and all kinda disqualifies me. Havin long hair.

brian where are you at?has to be other shops around your area, everyone needs a main shop but must have a second shop to be able to go to
