Sorry guys but this will offend some of you.
A steering wheel holder are two types of trucker.
one is the guy who this is a job to them, they could give a crap about anyone else but themselves. They are the ones who stand there complaining how hard it is to be a trucker while doing a third of the work others do. they are not willing to go beyond the 'getting the miles' mentality and feel that they deserve more for little work they do. Many, I mean MANY of them think this is just like driving a car, ram up the butt of other truckers who get in their way, while they treat the road as their own and will do anything to get by. These can be people who have been driving for 10 years, it isn't about how long but what attitude you have.
The second type of guy thinks he is a better driver than everyone else, just doing on type of freight, dealing with one or three companies in their short job history and think that this is a career. They think that being an O/O will give them the big bucks but then when they become one, they fail, blaming everyone else but themselves for the mistakes they made. They either go back to being company drivers, or leave altogether but nevertheless treat this as a job, not a career, definitely not a profession.FerrissWheel, spyder7723 and AModelCat Thank this. -
So if you have a minor problem and you can fix it would you rather sit and wait for it to be repaired or would you prefer to fix it and get back in the road where you make money? I know my answer.spyder7723 and FerrissWheel Thank this.

I think what you really mean to say is please help make our highways safe and turn in your license.AModelCat Thanks this.
-
This is true. They will take advantage of you and not pay you. If you have trade skill and knowledge your better off just sitting back and play possum. I have gone above and beyond in the past they will come to expect it and take full advantage of you....... Do what your told............ No more is correct. Just drive that's what your paid to doDominick253 Thanks this.

Do only as your told and you will only a subpar mediocre driver pulling general freight. The guys willing to go above and beyond a mediocre driver had a lot more doors open with much greater opportunity.
ChaoSS Thanks this.
