Its funny. The T600 Kenworth was about the first sloped nosed truck I can remember coming out. I thought it was the ugliest truck on the planet. Nowadays I think its one of the better looking sloped nose on the road.

I think you have answered the great mystery! When we walked into that Denny's, it was winter, and we all were wearing flannel and denim, boots and ballcaps. It's what truckers (we weren't called drivers, we were truckers) wore. The only fat guy was Captain Caveman and he was probably only 4'11 and 200lbs. The reason why the women were on us in Denny's was because the overwhelming vast majority of truckers were arrow straight.

But you're right, JD, if trucking looked the way it does today, I wouldn't have ever started. If a Prius was the feature car in Smokey and the Bandit, no one would even know who Burt Reynolds is. If Bo and Luke drove a Dodge Neon, we wouldn't have tuned in. Not even for Daisy. Magnum PI sucked, (how can you be 6'4, ex special forces, living in Hawaii, be friends with a 275lb black guy who flew choppers in Nam...YET, getting your arse handed to you in tiki bar fights?) but I tuned in to see the Ferrari. And Zeus and Apollo.

Imagine what the kids see nowadays. 400-500lbs, sour smelling, dirty sweatpants wearing, crying and effeminate, non butt wiping because the arms can't reach, people who drive disposable POS. "Yeah, that's what I want to be...a gigantic sidewalk sissy! Sign me up!"

JD, I couldn't put a finger on what's wrong, but you answered it. ITS THE TRUCKS! Everything stems from the trucks! It's the appealing part of the open deck! Having an aero truck with a van sucked up to it is about as bad arse as a schoolbus. Nobody dreams of driving a schoolbus.

    ^^^ Six,
Was that Carrie Underwoods big fat grandma driving that bus? It seems she had a 'Jesus take the wheel' moment there.

    Snazzy's, Richmond Hill,GA

Couldn't remember the name of the place. Imagine Hooters with good food, and a better beer selection (they had Killians Red!)

And this barkeep with looooong jet black hair down her butt, black boy shorts, killer legs and this dark, almost sinister look. Okay, Crystal Gayle hair and a young Elizabeth Taylor face. image.jpg

    Dangerous.

If you aren't driving a sloped nose truck your losing .10 cents a mile every mile you drive. For a career trucker who puts down 5 million miles your looking at 500k cash money out the door over your life so you can have a "hood". That's a special kind of stupid lol.

I may need to take a trip to Ga.

    Was hooters food ever good?
As a kid I remember it being not bad, however, over the years it seems teally sub par.
