The Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program is a commercial clearance program designed to ensure safety and security while expediting legitimate trade across the Canada–U.S. border.

 

Only for fast approved loads, shippers and receivers, carrier and driver. So if you can't use the fast lane then it takes you the same time as everyone else to get to the booth. They don't inspect you any more than if you don't have the card.

 

Sort of. It's part of it. Before, the carrier could just show up, and clear the load. Now, the carrier information is transmitted to cbsa along with the load info.
