I didn't say Verizon throttled I said carriers throttling and limiting their data. Not specifically Verizon.

Verizon jetpack I believe is an extra $10/mo, plus the cost of the jetpack unit itself, and the data deducts from your phone's data limit. You can just pay $10/mo to enable wifi tethering from your smartphone, and not have to pay for the jetpack and/or sign another 2 year contract.
