This app sure eats up battery life on the iphone though. Usually I can get 2 days out of a charge. So far I've used up 35% battery life and I'm only half done my day today.

But a sensible person will never be a law maker.KD5AXG Thanks this. -
logs have a fax menu. if a printer was in the truck, they'd ask and receive so long as there's paper and ink.

I have a printer app for my phone. works with a printer and bluetooth

I'm not buying a printer to satisfy anyone. You want me to print them supply a printer. You want me to log electronically, the company supplies the log
Well. If that wasn't a library of information. Thank you.
I think it should be specified the printing procedure.
If the requesting LEO should provide the paper and printer or should I carry a printer around in my 3 square ft house? Screw the food. I need a printer.
This in no way effects me. But I do have an opinion on the way it could be done as too not screw everyone. -
As for the signature on apps, I can't speak to Keep Truckin' but on Bigroad you can sign with a stylus just as if you were signing on paper or a point of sale terminal, and that's perfectly valid. Never got even a second glance, though I did get asked a few times if I had the capability to print (never asked for actual hard copy though). Had a cheap Epson Airprint capable printer, and an iPhone. Coming from that, the Peoplenet I'm saddled with now sure seems like a major step backward.

Keep truckin has provisions for signatures on logs and inspections via a stylus.
The FMCSA/ DOT changed the rule on this in July of 2014, allowing the use of software based record keeping. According to guidence response to the question of using software based logs, it states that ability to sign each day's logs is required, and that as such, the inspecting officer is to accept the electronic version during an inspection. Should the officer want printed copies of logs, they must give the driver the opportunity to print them. It does not specify the manor in which the hard copy can be produced. Keep truckin has the ability when connected to a network to fax or email delivery of the requested documents.
i do have a printer in the truck, mostly for permits and other things, I could print logs if need be. I have yet be asked at any time if I have a printer or can print logs, I have been asked if I have paper logs to use should the need arise.
From my experience using keep truckin, most inspection officer are familiar with it, and seem to like it a lot. Comments have been favorable, and they seem to like seeing it. Most common response is that it is so much easier to read.Dominick253 and scottlav46 Thank this.
