I have been sitting for 2 days in OKC waiting on a load. The company I'm signed on to primarily uses Ceva, Panther, and a smattering of FedEx CC. They are saying that there's is nothing coming out of here worth pulling. They're saying it's this way all across the U.S. Anybody else having problems finding freight?
Is freight really this slow right now??

It's pretty slow out there, but between the DAT board and truckstop.com there are 46 loads posted right now out of the OKC area for pickup today. Call your company and tell them to grab a load off the board to get you moving. Have them call around for a load with a decent rate and get moving, nobody is earning if your wheels aren't turning.

Freight volume has increased significantly in the past couple weeks. But the biggest challenge is the best freight still isn't hitting boards. Relationships still rule and the better customers only post when desperate. But also sounds like your carrier specializes in expedite (based on who they work with). The challenge with most expedite carriers is they don't like hauling general freight. They like to keep trucks positioned and available for the hot load. They pay better but you are getting paid for the sitting.

Yes we are expedited. I don't care about so much about sitting, but sitting for 2 days is pushing it for me. I want the truck to make about $5000 gross for the week. I've only made about $2800 for the past week and it's making me quite antsy.

That is the challenge of expedite. OK is a tough expedite market. I would have them move you to a better lane. When I had trucks leased to an expedite carrier we had a DH rate after 48-hours. We could move before then on our dime or if we knew it was going to be a bad market we would negotiate the DH move into the rate before accepting the load.scottlav46, TruckerNerd and flightwatch Thank this.

I been getting more calls but the money increase hasn't met proportion with the increase in calls.
Plus I've cut my operating radius down to met my personal needs.
Even direct people are still holding out on the money some. -
No problems here.

You never have to get permission to pay someone less but paying more takes a lot of effort.

Its picked up in my neck of the woods and rates have come up a bit too...
IDK what you are pulling, but I found 136 loads out of OKC and surrounding areas(50 miles) on DAT -
Fuel prices climbing pretty quick too. Sure seems like it's all relative doesn't it?
