Mack is very proprietary with stuff, that's why when you hit the chrome shops there is very little for them. Yeah, Macks don't want to deal, unless they are going to loose a customer, then they will work with you.

A cynical person might think that Volvo are slowly killing Mack Off...
It's good Job I'm not a Cynic..LOL.. -
Yeah I agree with that..they lost me only due to deal I was offered on the Volvo.
Funny thing is the Mack I liked went on sale the next month..salesman sent me an email for laughs.
I've always been a Mack guy from way back..my 1st Mack was a 89 R series.
Ugly but man that thing was a runner..all Mack..engine,tranny and rears.
The Volvo is nice though..engine is built by Mack right there in Hagerstown MD.

Really nice looking Volvo!!! Reminds me of the one I drove for CRST a couple of years ago...

1989 Mack RD688S (Spare, Sleeping inside for the winter
)
2011 Mack GU813 (Current Truck)
2002 Volvo VHD (Former truck)
I'll take a Mack any day, I just like the looks of them better. Especially an RD or RW.....or MH....or U models. DMM's look menacing....

You have to remember,Volvo did NOT buy Mack.They never wanted to buy Mack.They wanted Renault trucks who happend to own Mack.FYI Mack no longer has it's own corporate offices.They were moved to the Volvo North America offices IIRC.Toomanybikes Thanks this.

I'll get some better pics when we get it out and put it back to work.

Before I truly learned how to shift and back I trained on Macks and one certainly feels like a true "truck" driver driving a Mack....
