    Hello boys and girls,
Got my CDL just a week ago. Never went to any of the driving schools. Went to local CDL facility, picked up one of these books, read through and passed the written tests.
For the driving test, i never had any experience with a truck and trailer (box truck, like uhaul has only). Fortunately for me, i have my own semi truck, unfortunately it was always on the road when i wanted to practice. Two weekends the driver got back home earlier, he was able to show me a few tricks, spent a few hours backing the truck, went to the streets for a bit and went and tried to pass the driving exam. Failed the first time, because never tried to do a parallel backing before. Studied a bit more and passed the second time.
So far got a lot of good information from this forum, will try to share my experience what i have in other life situations, other then trucking.
There are a few discussions about sleep apnea, i was diagnosed with sleep apnea before had anything to do with trucking. I've done my research. I'm using the cpap machine, and i can tell you that it is working. If any one has any questions or wants to discuss - i'm all ears.

If this is a serious question - my driver was home every weekend, did around 2500-2700 miles per week. If no repairs that week (oil change, tires, brakes and stuff like that are maintenance, not repairs) then somewhere around a $1000 per week. This is excluding fuel, drivers pay, insurance and maintenance with todays rates.

Do you have your own authority, or is your truck leased to another carrier?
