Over an adequate counterpoise, a 102" whip is a quarter wave at about the CW portion of the 10 meter band. Folks using them for CB only should invest in either a heavy duty potbellied spring, or just a thread-on extension of about 6" length. 108" is closer to being in resonance in the 11 Citizens' Band.
A full wave antenna at 11 meters would be just that -- 11 meters in length, or around 36 feet.

You will definitely set off the over height detector in North Carolina on I 95.
GarlicBreadBandit Thanks this. -
I'd fear more for the bridges and trees, than the antenna... those things are straight out of some mid-evil torture chamber and indestructible
-
Funny thought, but it's not big enough to do that. The 102 on my car doesn't set off the over height detector on Brady St in Davenport, but it hits the bridge.

If your over 13'8" you'll slap the RR bridge in Memphis on I-55.

Where'd you get it, Volvo?
-
And have you been rolling with it?
-
Got it at bosselmans in Grand Island NE. Exit 312. Have been rolling with it. Haven't hit anything yet. Did have to tilt it a little father forward to get it to be straight up when rolling.
This particular one, the whip can be removed from the ferrule as with most loaded antennas that have a whip. Thinking of getting a 45" SS shaft made up and cutting the whip down to 63". This will still give me a non loaded, efficient 108" quarter wave antenna, but will not have the excessive flex issue.Evvy Thomas and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
You risked pinching your cable in the door jamb and changing the impedance seen by the output of your radio
