I'm just starting to seek some info on parking and see various threads where questions are asked or info is shared but none are centralized. Moderator(s), would it be feasible to start a forum section devoted to sharing truck parking information? Maybe split into 50 chapters, one per state, or into major metropolitan areas? My search now is for street parking in the Paramount (LA), California area. I have a 9am appt and see no feasible way to hold up in Ontario then deal with three hours traffic to go 40 miles to the warehouse. Am currently using google street view and google search, LOL! This info would be useful to almost all drivers dealing with making the choice of whether or not to 'go in' to a location the night before in order to avoid morning traffic.

sleep at flying j or ta Barstow. Start rolling 4.00 am and you will be Paramount area around 6.30 am. find a parking spot on street near your delivery location and stay with truck. if somebody from enforcement will tell you are illegally parked say I have delivery here. If they see you are waiting for delivery they will not write. but if they see you are not nearby or sleeping inside they will write it and the envelope will be on windshield. are you going to Ralphs DC ?

Call the consignee and ask about parking nearby or even on their property.

In Carson, between Central & Wilmington South of the 91 there are industrial complexes where you can park without being hassled.

Then you can have breakfast at the Columbia restaurant on Central-then it;s only a 15 min drive at 7am to Paramount.

Thank you, Bakerman, that's the kind of info I'm thinking of
I did go to Ralphs once and it took 90 minutes from I-15, (mostly due to the construction right there at the interchange with 91). I've been at it for 20 years, I kind of know that calling an LA consignee is pretty much a waste of time and the whole point of the post is to not have to get up at 5a.m. to make a 9:30 appointment 100 miles down the road and kill my 14 hour clock before I even get empty.
Three shares I can offer here would be Buena Park, Mira Loma and El Monte.
I use Buena Park for my trips to Wilmington. Off 91, go north on Valley View Ave (exit 22) and second right on Caballero. Desconso to the left is good, at 'Y' stay right on Caballero and its good or veer left onto Regio. Also Altura ad Aragon Circle in that neighborhood are on the exempt list. This is legal street parking in an industrial zone. One way I search now, and how I found those streets, is to google commercial vehicle restrictions and the name of the town. Some of these smaller towns have particular streets listed under exemptions to "No Commercial Vehicles" that allow 24 hour parking. I'm headed to Brea in the morning and they specifically DO NOT have exemptions, oh well!
The second spot I found on a delivery - if you're gonna have to park at the T/A in Ontario anyway, save your bucks, use the bathroom, buy dinner and go east on 10 to the other side of 15 and exit 59 to Etawanda going left (north) take second right on Hopkins. At 'T' intersection (Lineage Logistics) go either way on De Forest Circle, you'll find trucks parked there overnight in both directions.
Tomorrow night in El Monte, they don't allow parking, but google maps satellite and street views show trucks parked near Vonns. Go north on Baldwin, past Gidley and right on Lower Azusa then next right on Shipley and there are 2-3 blocks on the right with a dirt shoulder and no "No Parking Anytime" signs. There looks like a dirt shoulder on the other side against the Vonn fence, but google street view didn't show any trucks parked there.
If anyone else has some hidden spots in metro LA, please share. My delivery isn't til 9:30 so I'm just gonna take a chance if I leave Barstow at 6:30, hit I-10 around 8, I can do the last 30 miles to Brea in 90 minutes.

    Bakerman Thanks this.

Correction above on Mira Loma, that should be Etawanda off Rte 60, not the 10. Exit 42, right on Van Buren, then immediate left on Etawanda north under 60 to Hopkins (or just run Etawanda south from I-10 making left at Hopkins). I'm headed there now, LOL!
