Can I get my personnel file from a company I was terminated with? Or is it their property and no? I'm getting back into the industry after 6 years and want to see what is on it before going to truck school.
Thanks, falcon

Get a free copy of your DAC and see what they put on it.
http://www.hireright.com/background...ng-a-free-copy-of-your-background-report-file
Here is there number (800) 381-0645
At 7 years they stop reporting things like reason for leaving ,termination, eligibility for rehire, accidents, incidents. ect.
At 10 years the period of service you had with the reporting company completely falls off and there is no longer a record.
Please verify this for your self, this is just what i can remember -
Like kling and roadmap said, get a copy of your DAC which is free.I doubt your ex company will give you a copy of your personal file.

Most state's have a law that allows you have a right to review anything in your employment file at no cost to you. The company can charge you up .50 a page if you want copies of anything. This is different than your DAC.
What state are you in? -
im in ga, they said they use driveriq but started using it in 2010 i left in 2009 argh. gonna see if can get driveriq to get it for me.

i got my DAC a few months ago, it just says "Eligible for rehire-Review required before rehiring." Is that bad?

General purpose statement..

Unless you worked for a union, you might be screwed. Georgia is one of the only states that doesn't require employers to give current/former employees access to their employment files. Public employees are the only ones covered and employees of a union if it's in the contract.

You won't have a problem finding a job. Submit job applications during the first week of cdl school. Submit a bunch of them and take the best offer. You'll get lots of job offers. You don't need job placement assistance from the school because there's plenty of companies hiring the school doesn't even know about.
Schools usually push Werner, Swift, US Express but there's lots more out there.Falcon86a Thanks this.
