I can't remember the price off the top of my head but it was a bit high IMO. I've seen them on a lot of other machines in the past so I'm thinking its a fairly generic part.

Spent some more time on it today. Cut all the frame bolts out of the suspension. Got the brake chambers off there too. I'm not re-using the axle housings but I have no idea what condition those chambers are in. Rather get them off there and get them disarmed.
Straight Stacks, Bean Jr., IH Truck Guy and 1 other person Thank this. -

So you're not making it a 2 axle?
-
Leaning towards a tandem at this point simply for re-sale. I was thinking about maybe going the single axle route and putting a mechanic truck body on it but I'd rather get a newer truck for that (and one that doesn't need a full frame off rebuild to make it roadworthy)taxihacker66 and Straight Stacks Thank this.

Are you going to replace the front axle too, or just change the hubs to get rid of the Wisconsin wobblers?
-
I'm glad you're sharing your progress. All the W9 lovers live vicariously through your build!

Different steer axle for sure. I'm going to get one with brakes since stopping power sucks in an empty bobtail with no brakes up front.
-
Not only did most trucks come without brakes, those that had brakes, guys would cut them off!?
