    Friend of a friend of a friend ;) had a narrownose Pete on air-ride. Drives could individually dump, as well as trailer axles. Hidden underneath the fifth wheel was a hydraulic ram. Axles dumped into a couple extra air-tanks so the scale wouldn't hear the air-draining. Said he could scale 90,000 and get the scale to read 80,000...

    According to what a DOT officer friend of mine told me, the reason camber is built into a trailer is that customes demand it because it looks like the trailer is not heavily loaded. This came from a large trailer manufacturer.

    Have you ever seen a perfectly flat bridge? When you do, they are not very long and either have huge span support or are weight restricted.
