Hey guys,
About 2 weeks ago I got a notice from progressive that they are dropping me due to adding too many trucks too fast. I am up to 6 trucks in 4 month period. When I first got insurance with them they told me I was good up to 10 trucks so I did not worry about it... well now they are dropping me and not wanting to change their mind. The problem is all the other companies are quoting me 20k per truck a year and some wont allow more than 2-3 trucks! That is well over double what I was paying with progressive. Anyone got any recommendations? Can I somehow dispute this even tho they are telling me they made up their mind??? Does anyone know a cheaper company? Btw I am being quoted high permiums because I am a new venture...but how come progressive did not quote me this!? I feel like this is putting my company in danger of either shutting down or downsizing to 2-3 trucks. Any recommendations? I have been calling all over for quotes.

Having a company only 4 months old is gonna hurt you. If you've been in business for 15 yrs. you could use that as a negotiating point. But only 4 months gives them every reason to drop you or not sign you without high premiums.

See, This is a picture perfect example of 'Deregulation' And what it doesn't represent anymore
Poor EMCO wants to expand, But in a strategically twisted and trashed industry that groups like the ATA,FMCSA,Large carrier interest group working for them, They want a full reciprocation of what they originally wanted 35 years ago.. Go Figure right?
Now, They Dont want "nobodys" Expanding their business by purchasing capacity without being part of the "special interests"..They want folks like us GONE for good... Hence why Progressive is 'nervous' about your expansionjinxutoo001 and rocknroll81 Thank this. -
It's very bad right now. It's been getting worse over past 10 yrs, but over the last 2 yrs they have made their intentions obvious. Electronic logs, discounts to mega carriers, high premiums for small companies. Driver pay at all time low, and then they wonder why they can't get good drivers. It's all bad, no new laws are put in place to help small carriers, only benefit large carriers. Making the small carriers outlaw/criminals. I'm jacked up tonight, time to crash the gate doing 98
Ruthless, jinxutoo001, rocknroll81 and 1 other person Thank this. -
