Hurst, there is a reasons why those of us who live here in the north woods are solar powered truckers.
Its the only way to stay warmISH.
My first year with my CDL A was 2013 and the ensuing winter. I have never liked winter since. All the previous years I have driven were in straight trucks, and winter didn't really bother me. But now, not so much a fan of it anymore.
winter fun

Most of the times, winter isn't that bad.
This year was the worst in the 6 years i've been back out on the road. I"ve almost wore out a set of chains. They only got used twice last year. -
How fun that was, chain law for all CMV's in the Denver area, everything closed, such joyous fun, I left Weds. before it started, drove to Raton, NM, coworker and I parked in Pueblo at 1:30 and got a hotel room, made it back to Denver around 5am.

LOL
Your AC is fuct if you have steam blowing out of it. My hands dont stick to the wheel,.. maybe dry your sweaty palms? Nor do I have sweaty butt crack issues,.. LOL
Lets face it,.. you just dont belong in Fla any more than I belong in Alaska.
Shame too,. cuz your precious Sprint has really great service in Fla.

I've reached a stage where I can afford to park it when I dont want to drive. I do not live week to week anymore. Not saying you guys are poor or lack the means,.. no offense meant. Just that many guys will push it and keep going no matter what the conditions are. I've been there and hated missing out on money because of the weather. I'd do what ever was asked of me.
My truck isnt much to look at,.. but its mine,.. its paid for,.. it earns me a good living and I dont want to risk jeopardizing what little I have just to get an extra run in for the week. Its not worth the risks to me.
My hat is off to you guys who enjoy the cold and winter weather. Its just not me. I like being out in the garage with sweat dripping off my forehead working on my car or out working on my truck with the sun beating down browning my skin. I love my palm trees,.. beaches,.. year round out door weather. Its paradise for me.

You learn what you live. Up here we have two seasons as they say, winter and construction. In some ways I actually prefer winter.
-
This winter was rather forgiving in the eastern NM/west TX arena. Only had a nasty ice storm after Thanksgiving and that WS Goliath with the 10' drifts after Christmas. While those two phenomena were crippling in their own way, it's always nice to have the entire Winters worth of precipitation dumped among 4-5 days out of the entire season.
That said, I'm still gunning for the Phoenix area when I've got everything squared away. But that all depends on what the outcome of the out-of-pocket for my hospitalization is going to cost.
Nothing like riding the DR650 on a sunny afternoon and then dumping it on a loose gravel spot at an intersection.
Gravel truckers. -
Sprint worked great all over the east coast, 15 years ago. And have gotten better over here on the west recently.
-
Of course they did. Sprint was so good for me that I dropped them like a dirty sock and decided to pay more for Verizon because I'm such a swell guy.

Unfortunately, Hurst, I'm a company driver (local to boot). So, I'm more at the whim of my dispatcher. And like others have said. We just take it slower, sometimes.
So, no I don't take offense to what you said.
