its been awhile since I been around here but I got a question I know some could answer. Yesterday I got a hole punched in my oil pan and have some block damage and needing ideas. The engine that went down was a 6ts and was probably putting 800 to the ground with all I've done to it over the years. Injectors, turbo, and ECM that were done right through trial and error and from help and information from a lot of guys here. It ran d@mn good. Now my question is: I have a complete 5ek in my barn I got cheap a few years ago and was always planning on rebuilding it for deals like this but never got time or money and now it's time. Can I expect the 5ek block to stay together if I put my top end on it. I'll overhaul the bottom end I'm just nervous I'll be expecting to much out of it with that much horsepower. I know the 6ts isn't the 6nz but I got 2 million miles out of the 6ts and the last million with the power. Can I expect the same out of the 5ek.

Glad you're still around for the advice. You are one of them I learned from and I have a lot of those old threads saved on my CPU. Thanks

You're not the only slow learner around. If I wasn't also one I wouldn't be asking the question.

Also have a 5ek in one of my friends trucks that has been at high HP for a good while, I wouldn't be scared of it.

The only thing I know bad about 5ek ' s was some had weak crank shafts that would break. But if it has alot of miles on it I wouldnt worry. Or if you want to stroke it install an Acert crank with the 7172 low comp pistons. That will put a smile on yer face when you get it running.

SAR, tsavory and Tmtbob Thank this.

That's a great idea that I didn't think of. And exactly the reason why I came here to ask.
Good to know smokin. You're another one I respect the opinions from.

Be sure the block stiffener from a older non ecm. is still bolted between block and the oil pan, it was thicker on most 425hp. engines?

There is no stiffener on the e-model like the b-models.
