5ek block strength

The E model ones are thin like a windage tray cat. tryed to save weight but did not think newer blocks needed the thicker plate?

 

I had a stiffener on my 6nz when I rebuilt it. I can't compare it to what is on the b models because I've never seen one, but mine didn't look all that stout.

 

It is just a windage Plate not a stiffener. Not the big plate .

 

Just out of curiosity im looking to build a great all around cat motor and get rid of my detroit. Any one out there know a good cat mechanic on the west coast? Im in az and i want to build the motor right and with good parts as the budget allows and still keep working my current setup. Thanks and sorry for the hijack

Cool thanks. Im just not impressed with the detroit and ive go tit turned up ect and done a few things to it for more power and its a dog on the hills which makes me hate to drive the truck. So i think ive decided its time to build a nice cat and never look back. Im new to the whole big diesel thing and need some one who will get me what i need and not take advantage of me. Done alot of good reading on this site.
