I have read some crazy stuff on these posts and I have one question. Does anyone ever have anything positive to say about anything they do in their job? Not just western, but almost every company seems to have endless complaints from people that hate this and hate that etc. I understand not all jobs are perfect, but I've even seen complaints about having to get out of your truck and do some work aside from driving. Has the people in our country gone that soft? Are we all becoming whiners and lazy? I honestly have never had a job that I loved and that had super happy supervisors. It's life...What you make of it is what determines the outcome.

Todays Western express experience....
So I'm at a 4 way red light and a Western truck is on the side st. Of course he gets the green light and I'm stuck behind him......
So we're going down a state road posted speed limit 40 . Nit wit is doing 30.... O well the pilot is 7-8 miles down ( I know he going there) so I just settle in.
I'm a little ways back and a car pulls out in front of me following western........
Western gets to the pilot and misses the entrance , and stops in the road. Then puts it in reverse and backs into the car.
He is pushing the car towards me, I'm stopped a ways back . At this point I've had enought and turn left and go....no one is coming in the other direction.
When I went by him he was still backing up
speedyk and 4mer trucker Thank this. -
Because Mountain Dew's, energy drinks, and Yellow Jackets are not good for you. They are actually very bad for you and very hard on your body. And if he was drinking as much as you say he was, his body chemistry was way jacked. He was a heart attack waiting to happen. No wonder he was always tired.51.50 Thanks this.

You have to pay your dues, but it sucks. I just did 6 months with Swift after being away from driving for over 11 years. I now have a better job and start orientation Monday. At least I hope it is a better job! It has a $1000 weekly minimum guarantee, but there are a few stipulations.

I have to disagree, a little at least. Western did me a solid. I had quit, or decided to quit in Austin Texas. It was after hours, I didn't tell anybody and I deadheaded home. I drove about 3.5 hours to where I lived near Houston. Then sent a message saying that I was quitting, telling them where I was and stating I would bring the truck back to them, I just wanted to be assured that I was going to have a way to get home. I had been having issues with my dispatcher, got a new dispatcher and had the same issues with that dispatcher. It was a weekend that I did this. I had 3 big wigs in the company, pretty high up on the food chain who had called me asking what happened to make me want to quit, and I explained all the junk to them and that was that. Sent an email offering not to report them to DOT for all of the HOS violations (this was back before they went to QC logs, still paper) if they didn't trash my DAC report. To this day, you can call them up, give them my social, truck number I was in, driver code, whatever you like and they have no idea who the hell I am. It's fantastic! They sent a tow truck to get the truck and trailer is why that's so fantastic and significant to me. Not long after that old man Wise died. In my experience there with Western Express though, flatbedding at least, you WILL NOT make much money if you will not drive illegal. I made okay money until I said no mas to driving illegally. B services are horrendous. I sat there in Nashville 4 freaking days before they finally got to my truck. Didn't get a motel room until the time they finally put the truck into the shop either. It was terrible to work for them. I don't blame anybody who doesn't want to work there. While they done me crappy also, they also did me a solid.

Well. I personally don't know, honestly apart from what I have read as well, which has been all bad. There was a youtube video by someone named runhardgetpaid or something like that showing video of him on the phone, which he had on speaker, with his dispatcher who was threatening him with his job and all this stuff. My brother went to their orientation, and ended up being sent home for medical reasons. He had an accident which injured his back at the time, though he was fine and well they wouldn't hire him. But he said they considered not giving two weeks notice as gross misconduct and would put that on your DAC report as reason for separation or some such non-sense. There is a lot of bad about KB Transport that's for sure. Read somewhere about the recruiter going out and swinging open the door of a drivers truck yelling and cussing telling him to get his junk (he used the s word) out of the truck and get off the property before they called the police. After seeing the youtube video though is when I canceled my orientation start date and went on somewhere else. Best company I worked for with guarantee was Western Flyer. It was a smidge less than what your $1000 is, BUT, not a lot of red tape with it. And I was home every weekend religiously. Even when I went to the yard in OKC and truck got shut down, 1 day, 2 days, didn't matter. That didn't change my guarantee or my hometime.
