No, BT is a small family owned company; maybe 20 or 30 trucks.

I think the one you mention was bought by Schneider years ago.

Back then builders had a pretty good reputation, but don't know how accurate that was.

i was too young and dumb too know any better back then, i seem to remember those as the times when trucking was fun but what did i know, other than driving an old cabover the runs weren't so bad, i don't think i cared about the pay, i was just having a good ol time being someone who had never seen much of the country,i did their van division which probably wasn't as good as the flatbed.

Yes, it was a lot of fun back then. Cruising down the highway late at night listening to WWL New Orleans truckin' radio and those advertisements, "Melton Truck Lines, home of the Running Rabbit." Remember that, when Melton's logo was a picture of a running jackrabbit? Guess they dropped that picture when they relocated to Tulsa.

Tons of flatbed companies in Houston. Many of the just haul pipe. That sux. You already know how to drive, so what difference would it make if you ran like a team? Its the securement training you want. Try Palletized in Houston. 20150723_134830.jpg

They haul everything. Should be educational

I don't think you understand what I mean.

If you had to ride with another driver, what difference would it make if he ran 11 and you ran 11? I mean, I can see if if you were just learning to drive, you would want him riding shotgun. But you can already drive.

Personally, I wouldn't think you would need to ride in a truck with another driver. Just a little yard work and then throw you to the wolves. But sometimes, for insurance reasons, or so they say, they have you ride along for 2 weeks or so. It wouldn't be what I'd want to do, but if I had to do it to get my foot in the door, I would ride along. If the trainer wanted to crank out some miles because he had an experienced hand in the truck, I'd crank out the miles.

They won't pay for you running like that and running teams with someone I don't know is never going to happen
