Parking lot accident insurance question.

@jerezxp7 they can't do anything when you need them since its on private property but they can pull you over and do an inspection when you are sleeping by knocking on your door

 

If they do report it, shame on them. Hes going to pay for it anyways. I dont know about insurance in USA but in Canada the one insuring you is paying for your damage. And the other company pays for the other guys damage.

Someone accused me breaking his door mounted miror. Blind side backing at a dock.aksed me for 150$. Never payed it, hell, the guy didnt even want to watch security cams. Declare it if you want but im not paying for that.

Bottom line, dont give him any money, if he wants to declare it... Go ahead, declare or absorb the cost.

 

Heck in 05 I hit and destroyed an illegally parked new Ford Taurus with jersy plates in Brooklyn ...I couldn't find the owner and finally an NYC cop came by and asked me what happened , after I explained things he said if I wasn't worried about my scraped up ICC bumper I was free to go on my way cause that car not supposed to be here ...no report and he had car towed ....I couldn't get back across the gwb fast enough and never heard another word .

 

When I was in LE, I wouldn't respond to those incidents on private property unless there was injuries or something serious. I just had the parties exchange info and be on their way. Complete waste of time for an officer to respond to that stuff.
