Howdy folks! Some of you may know me from the YouTube show Renegade Trucker.
This summer I am going to be filming a tell all documentary on the trucking industry with the hopes that telling the story of the industry from a drivers point of view that we can change the public face of the industry for the better and help end much of the abuse of drivers happening within the industry and increase driver pay.
Focusing on the "Driver Mills" is going to be a large part of this story and if you have been through one of these programs and you feel as though you were abused in the process whether it was given poor training or if you were forced into a lease/purchase program in order to maintain employment.
If so I want to talk to you! I want to tell your story!
Please keep in mind I am a driver who has been in the industry since 2003, I am not a Journalist who knows nothing about the industry. My goal in doing this is to help fix the industry from the inside out by exposing the truth about trucking in a way that has never been done before.
If you have a story you think could be of value to this project please let me know either in this thread or via private message!
Have you been abused by a company and want to tell your story?

Curious what type of abuses you are looking for? Everytime I read here about drivers being "abused" by their dispatcher/employer seems like the blow it up and make a bigger deal about it than needed. No jobs are perfect. I drove OTR a few years and obviously met lots of drivers. Always seemed to me the ones #####ing and crying usually deserved it or were just straight up lazy. Always going to be cases of mistreatment but disagree the industry is against their number 1 asset

Or places that send you 900 miles to pick up an Mt saying it's the closest they have... and you can't get a load without a trailer.
The companies been abusing drivers for a very long time, reasons they get away with it 1) people think they care about the drivers.... 2) people think drivers are an asset.. 3) money...
And if you think a company sees you as an asset... your wrong, drivers are expendable, they will replace anyone without any problem ..
Most drivers don't read what they sign in orientation. ... their is one page most companies have stating "separation without notice or cause".. basically they can fire you at anytime.. -
900 miles to pick up an MT trailer is BS. Dispatcher would be fired for something like that. I was never asked to run illiegal and was always at the top of my dispatchers list. I think closest to being asked to run illiegal was trying to complete FedEx loads on time. NEVER was I asked to run illiegal.

Who you gonna get to play me in the movie? I want to know before I talk

Depends on carrier.. had 3 carriers in the past that did shady things..
Most do cheap maintenance, most often with trailer abs... or taking shortcuts on things to save money..
And if you read through these forums, as well as others you will find a lot of complaints on similar issues..
If it was just a few people complaining I would say good chance their disgruntled, but when you can find hundreds over a 5yr span complaining about similar issues at a company. Then it becomes more then a disgruntled emplotee..Indignant trucker Thanks this. -
