I am speaking to Tami right now about possible employment with Melton. How truthful was she as your recruiter? Anything I need to be wary about?
-
Still work for them? My family is in Lake Havasu. Do they let you take the truck home?
-
don't understand the reason for tarping for a lousy 40 bucks
-
Yes they let you take the truck home.
you get used to the taping it's part of being a company flatbed driver . The 40$ is about 40$ more than most companies pay. -
nothing like working for free
-
I don't get it , Noone is making you work free . It's a free country if you don't like it don't do it . If you don't like Melton work somewhere else . If you don't want to work for someone else start a bussiness and make your own rules .
-
cause when ppl work for free or next 2 nothing, companies expect it from all...and it keeps wages low.....
Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
First $40 is not “free”, if you can tarp the load in 2 hours it would be $20 per hour, not great but not bad and once experienced most loads can be trapped in under an hour so that is pretty fair money.
Second, the entire pay packaged should be looked at when deciding if working for a company is worth it. What if they paid .85 per mile but no tarp pay? Would it still be bad deal?
They start inexperience drives at .41 per mile plus $25 per stop, extra pay for Canada, oversized, fuel bonus, and CSA inspection bonuses. Sounds like a good deal for any new drivers.
You were asked before who paid better, funny how there was no response to that.Riffman Thanks this. -
that's 40 to tarp/untarp secure/unsecure
