I know nothing about van rates. I do heavy haul and it's in the toilet bad... I've sat 9 days at one time just trying to finda a ld. that pays.. I don't run for fuel money.....brodgers, Terry270, Moon_beam and 1 other person Thank this. -
Everything is slow right now seemingly everywhere. Read more around here or on google news about how much the railroad is NOT moving, about how there's scores of container ships sitting idle in the ocean, with no containers waiting on it. It appears to be a global slowdown. The result now is just supply and demand - too many drivers and not a lot of freight. That drives the rates lower and lower. The low rates are not sustainable and eventually the companies hauling for peanuts will have a mechanical breakdown, or the finance company will repo their equipment, or their drivers (not the paycheck to paycheck) will say "I have money in the bank and I am not working for 300 a week". It is a cycle, part of the nature of the beast.
Moon_beam, passingthru69 and BigT13 Thank this.
