You have to consider your geography . Cost of living a lot lower down there

I lived in the Wilmington, NC area (about an hour away from Mount Olive) for the better part of 25 years. I can tell you that while $750/week gross may be the norm, it does not go very far. You can and should do better than that. That's why I left NC and moved to PA. Last year I grossed a little more than $83K, more than double what they're offering him. I slept in my own bed at home 19 out of 20 working days, and only worked weekends if I wanted to. And my cost of living is LESS than it was in NC.

So yes, I did consider the geography.

Yeah I was born and raised here. Lived here all my life minus military time. I do remember living ok off 10 bucks an hour but it's got worse in the past few years. Funny you should say you moved to PA. My wifes kin is up there. After she gets her doctorates she wants to move up there. I ain't digging it too much but the kids are starting to graduate HS so it'll just be us shortly. My federal job pays in the mid 20s per hour and it still don't seem.like enough for some reason

I had some good times over there. I left the area in 98. I'm sure it's changed a lot now

Is the work hard (lifting)? Or is it mostly driving? I get that you have to strap log loads. I got an app in with Ezell. Gotta commute to Ahoskie if I get hired on but I like driving out here in Eastern rural NC. Up to now dry van, reefer, and a short stint in flatbed. Not looking for an MBM food type gig.

They run wood pellets on hoppers up to VA and Wilmington nc. Also they haul wood chips in chip trailers. I spoke with them back and forth for a couple of weeks. It won't bad but I got a federal job so that was that. I won't too keen on starting a night shift job anyway
