I have reason to believe OP isn't making this up here. Why would he make all this up? I feel he probably stuck around because big bucks were owed to him. I feel he had faith that it would get straightened out. I'd sue the balls off everybody if true. I can't lie, I'm far off from even thinking of being O/O and if my pay isn't there Friday when I wake up... I'm raising hell. (I do work for a mega tho lol)

You'd be surprised at some of the tall tales that drivers make up. Hell, that's all we have time to do when we're driving.HDFatboy, drvrtech77, MidWest_MacDaddy and 2 others Thank this.

Like I said, I'm very green to this industry. I'm like 10 months in so there's still much to learn.

I do not believe truck drivers lie. However, I did hear once that a guy heard a guy on the CB that said something that was not true. But, I have my doubts!skinnyb01, flybynite63, cnsper and 1 other person Thank this.

While I choose NOT to opinionate about this particular incident,(I enjoy rollin'coal's suggestions and advice)
I will say this as a business owner myself from Chicago..
1. No Matter what, Your employees and/or Lessee's are to be paid on time and in full...
NO EXCUSES EVER!!
You got sick or family emergency?
Your customers are 45 days out?
A driver had an accident or incident?
Your Accounts were fraudulently hacked??
A driver quit or abandoned?
Sorry, Its the cost of doing business..... This is the 1 thing you Cannot do operating a business.. Like another poster stated, "It becomes the beginning of the End". Once your reputation becomes even slightly tarnished because of the excuse of slow funds.... There is really no recovery,boom192, sawmill, fortycalglock and 13 others Thank this. -
If you think about it, being accused of abandoning 2 loads doesn't even make any sense. How could someone abandon two loads, is it even possible? And if that really was the case then why would f2f tolerate more than one? I don't believe f2f's claims here because it's an irrational attack.T_TRUCKER. and Pork Chop Express Thank this.

I believe he means the driver commited and didn't accept two loads . Just poor wording
drvrtech77, wore out and stevep1977 Thank this. -
If that's the case then he should have paid the driver on time if he wanted the freight to be movedboom192, Mudguppy, exhausted379 and 2 others Thank this.

When I was driving for UVL, the office I was out of had a dispatcher who also owned a few trucks. He cherry picked the highest paying loads and poached the guys who he thought were the best. He stole from the company and was finally forced to go out on his own. Once on his own, he wasn't able to steal to supplement his earnings. Eventually he want able to pay his drivers anymore. He came up with every excuse in the book about not being able to pay. Everything was someone else's fault. The drivers finally had enough of him and left. Wasn't in business long after that. I took great pleasure in his demise. As did others who were at the company he stole from. Funny thing was, as soon as he left our agent to go on his own, things got straightened out and back to normal overnight. Another know it all who thought he was smarter than everyone else
Starboyjim Thanks this. -
F2F has a program, Kjoseph, where if you are leased on to them and they don't have a load you want to pull, you can find a load yourself and run it thru their books. That's the part I meant to refer to. If I'm finding my own loads, I'll just work a little more, hire a factor service, get my plates and do it the old fashioned way. On my own.
Most if not all these lease-on companies charge 20-25% of the haul. I've looked at this, a lot. I'm still leased to Conway/XPO, but I'm still looking at the freight market, too. If I did go over to O/O, now would be the time I'd start, when freight was picking up. My goal? To find a good path to profitable percentage earnings and get a few more trucks and drivers once I know the system. I earn enough at Conway/XPO for me, but I'll never hire a driver or buy another truck with the income I earn leasing to them. I've talked with several Conway I/C's, talked to some of their drivers. The pay is mileage, around $.35, plus driver expenses and truck? I don't see how that could work and I think it's pretty typical of the I/C arrangement. I might even get a Broker's authority and broker my own loads, if I do get a few more trucks. How about that! A broker I could trust, mostly.Jonkie Thanks this.
