BTW, Eddy, I leased to Conway Truckload for the last 3 years. This year I was less active, 120K miles, gross income from the truck $144K. I don't know how I'd get net income to the truck, since that's the same place my gross income arrives. But I did the $144K gross, earned around 50% net. A little lower than the previous years, my truck ate quite a bit of my income last year, 17%. There, some facts. Actually, no surprise so don't petition the IRS for my "public information" tax filings unless you want to - I've posted this same information elsewhere in here.

I run an area around 200 mi radius from my home. Most of my loads are <150 mi. 12+ loads a week.

I do occasionally venture to the NE or TX, but every time I take a loss getting back, more so from TX. Sometimes my mind and body need a break though. Most days the load board takes up a LOT of time, and the occasional long trip to take a rest from it is needed for my sanity.

A lot of ICs that fail can't get big miles out of their head. They've been trained like monkeys to think that more miles = more $. Trucking companies do this intentionally. The reality is if you are a business owner in this industry, wether you own one truck or 100,000, miles cost you money.

A challenge for sure. You won't have to work very hard to guess what I was thinking.

To the Schneider ic's.... What's your average rate per mile? Also, how are the rates in the Memphis, Dallas, and Atlanta markets?
