####, some of you act like this only happens in the trucking industry. Just reschedule, simple as that.

some people just aren't that smart. And everybody defending him is clearly not that smart. If he wasn't home the day before the appointment or at least headed that way that would've been the time to call and reschedule if you ask me. I don't have that problem as I own the truck, but i've rescheduled more doctors appointments than I've been to in the past 3 years. But some people must enjoy the doctor me I have a hard time not killing them. Only thing worse is the dentist and I see him on friday to have my wisdom teeth removed and I may or may not make that appointment depending on weather I get dumped in CB thursday night.

No kidding, I dispatch myself and I miss more appts. than my drivers do. Some people need to be led by the hand.

It's society now days. The world is out to get everybody. I'm the type that would rather die than go to the doc...my wifes kids get the sniffles and you'd swear to god the CDC needed to be called...I now understand why I am sicker now than I ever have been in my life the kids ain't immune to nothing other than the #### antibiotics. I get a dot physical done and unless I'm vomiting blood or something rather serious I'd rather be working than at a doctor wasting money.

If it ain't life and death I'm sure an appointment can be rescheduled I find that to be the attitude most drivers need to have

Speak with your immediate dispatchers Manager and/or Managers Supervisor...someone doesnt have their eye on the ball.

(sigh, i dont possess confidence that appointments for drivers maybe kept, Doctors, Dental visits, Wedding Anniversary, Kids birthdays, kids game day...Jury Duty...some will get this done...sometimes...but even those people will not make those appointments with great efficiency. local drivers better chances)

I only heard of it once,
the driver got sick, like the flu in Gary, they had him take a bus to Indianapolis to our terminal, then to Concentra.
I took him back to the bus station in the car. Heck of a trip...

If I got the flu I would be sleeping it off in my bunk.
I would NOT be busing anywhere getting even more sick, and getting other people around me sick.
    It would be totally irresponsible.

I have gotten sick twice since being on the road. Both times I simply refused any pplans and called to explain that I was sick, and to set my PTA out for another day or two. Both of those times I was out for two days, and then I was well enough to drive again.
'Well enough' means that I was not compromising safety by going back too early.

Going to a doctor for a cold or flu is worthless, or even worse.
They will always prescribe meds that really don't do anything except cost you money, both for the meds and for the visit.

People are way too paranoid when they start feeling even a little bad. They rush to a doctor, and doctors just love that.

My body can take care of most things all on its own - because I let it do so.
