What in the world is deceitful (you know as in "concealing or misrepresenting the truth")? It is the legal way to get a divorce when one party disappears from the scene (nothing to do with being a bully, bad spouse, etc), just unable to reasonably locate the individual. You may not like it and think she should spend a ton of money trying to find this guy before such an action, but apparently this a perfectly legal action in many states.

 

She can get a divorce without him being patient. The lawyer will run an ad in the paper for 30 days to see if he will respond
