If you've never had the pleasure of running wide open out west and also not having the burden of buying the fuel, it would only make sense that you'd be okay with governed trucks.

Run like that for a few months though, you'll change your mind. I have wet dreams about that #### truck now that I'm chugging along at 65 all #### day.

    Rocks Thanks this.

Remember rolling across ID @ 0200hrs in that big nose Pete v8 cat super b train.

From what I see I'm getting out just in time.

Well this is exactly why its being looked at. To discourage the Mom and Pop trucking companies from continuing in the business and the mega carriers can have a choke hold on all the freight. Passing the required e-logs is doing the same thing. Making the Mom and Pop, or small trucking firms, to go out and spend more money on the e-log equipment and the monthly fees associated with it.

Please allow me to simplify this.

Oil companies will not let a speed goveners law to ever pass. Oil controlls all transportation issues.

    You are in good hands.

My truck is governed by my right foot and those little white signs along the road with the big black numbers on them. Always has been. Always will be. I refuse to drive on any road with a vehicle incapable of traveling the posted speed limit. If I can't run the speed limit on the big road, I'll stick to the 2-lanes (which I prefer anyway). I won't allow my truck to be set below the posted limit on the 2-lanes...or maybe I'll just have some bumper stickers printed up that say "IF YOU DON'T LIKE HOW SLOW I'M DRIVING, CALL (202) 224-3121"...and put them on the rear of every trailer during my pretrip each and every time I hook to a new trailer.
