This is something I was just thinking about the other day, before any of this even blew up. You can use social media to make yourself into something that you're not, you know? Great looking website, big free advertising (like TTR), reviews from people posing as drivers that may actually be interested parties, talk about 4,5,6 dollars a mile, Craigslist ads claiming "a new, revolutionary way to do business", all with absolutely no fundamentals to back it up. Then go to the SAFER website and these same people have 3 trucks running. There's how easy it is to make yourself a big deal on the internet. Just like the Wizard of Oz did. Not saying that is what happened here, but just commenting on how easily you could have gullible or desperate people beating your door down to lease on.
Please always do real due diligence before you jump.

Well if you work for f2f for instance, you're not collecting from the broker or customer are you? Isn't it f2f that the receivables run through. So how does in not work that way, doesn't f2f dole out the settlements?
-
But skate, if mercer for some reason got in a bid and got behind on pay, would you leave their trailer a few hundred miles away, refuse to turn in the plate and permit book then come on social media and scream how they owe you money and are refusing to pay??
I know you better than that. You may cancel the lease, but you would do it the right way and return everything.
Now if you leave the right way, and money owed isn't paid in a timely manner, instead of being on here talking a bunch of trash, your attorney would be filing collection papers at the local court house.
I guess that's why i don't give any credit to the accusations of f2f stiffing any owner ops. If money was legitimately owed you'd think we would see some court filings. Court dockets are public info, so a simple Google search should show just how many legit debts f2f has to previous owner operators.
Edit to add: and skate, when i mentioned rolling coal in that post, it was because back in the beginning of this thread, or maybe it was the other one that got locked, a select few were basically calling him an idiot for not taking his truck elsewhere. It wasn't the part you referenced in your reply to me.Last edited: Apr 14, 2016
ruffrider and gentleroger Thank this. -
I've never driven for anyone. That would be what an employee does. But at any rate, bill is my competition, but right is right and hogwash is hogwash so that means sometimes i am standing beside my competition.
And my relationship with f2f has no bearing on the matter, what proof is there that you, or anyone else on ttr currently or previously has been contracted to them.spectacle13 Thanks this. -
Nope ... If you use a factoring company the money flows through them but that doesn't make you an employee.
Key difference in the wording... The O/O doesn't work "for" F2F, they work "with" F2F.
My money runs through my wife...
But I am not her employee... LOL ...

There is no such thing as too much popcorn !!!

Not talking about titles, the money runs through f2f and then they forward it to you. An OO at f2f doesn't have first dibs on the money from the work they've done, Bill gets first crack, yes?

True... Then I made enough to share...
