ethics, there very important; hold your point of view...press the Carrier, to have the shipper rework the load.

I am as I am not rolling until this load is legal weight
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Slide to get it right. You'll be fine in the states you're running.

I was just thinking the same thing, seems a wierd route.
Also Illinois only enforces that 42'-6" restriction on on class III truck routes and non truck route local roads. It's 45'-6" on Class I and II truck routes (STAA access routes).
Here's a pdf file from the Illinois DOT.Attached Files:

Good Luck driver.

In 30 plus years of hauling produce,
I never returned to a shipper...........
I guess times have changed !rabbiporkchop, insertnamehere, passingthru69 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm curious what those states you mentioned has anything to do with sliding your tandems?Slide tandems two holes and you'll be fine.

Shippers & Carriers need to be pressed to focus on doing their job. By this driver being steadfast, he may create tension generated by the receiver getting the freight late or not at all. (this is good) Drivers have a hard enuf time, that dont need crap language from others whom should know better. If, the shipper loses their contract...the better.Dominick253 Thanks this.

Put the tandems at 45'-6" to rear axle and reweight. If you're within 100 lbs of 34000, roll with it. Lengthwise you'd be legal in Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and I doubt you'll catch a second glance from the scales in Wisconsin.

Nothing wrong with the load configuration! Good luck telling them to fix something that ain't broke. Geez.
rocknroll81, spyder7723 and pattyj Thank this.
