07 Freightliner Sputtering Smoking

Erg was done 2.5 years ago by freightliner and injectors were done a few months ago.

Two times in past month the month I've went to start truck and it was smoking like crazy and the RPMs were very low at around 500. The RPMs wouldn't come up when I pressed throttle ...After about 15-30 mins the RPms finnaly came up and the smoke stoped coming out exhuast.

It does the same thing often when going up a hill and the RPMs get down towards 1200 right where the yellow is on the dash. I'll be crusing in 10th and when rmps get low on a hill smoke will come out stack and truck has no power and it sputters and skips.... I shift down and usually it's OK until I shift back into 10th...then it sputters again quickly and smokes a little before the RPMs get back to 1400+ as i cone back down the hill.

Also the truck seems to be using a gal of coolant a week..there is a small leak where sensor tightens but I don't think it amounts to much. Yesterday the truck shut off 3 times bc if the red yellow check engine light. Dash board said something about coolant but it looks to be almost full...

Also I just replaced the coolant sensor. Where is the EGR cooler?

I'm not sure if the truck shutting off/coolant light is the same issue as the smoke/Sputtering. One mechanic told me it could be the turbo wastegate valve. Could that be sticking and not allowing the truck to get boost when it's at those low rmps in 10th gear? It also will sputter/smoke when I stop for a few minutes and then get going again. It will smoke/sputter in 2nd which is what I start off in until RPMs reach 1300ish and then it's fine

Is the EGR cooler the same thing as the EGR? EGR was replaced 2.5 yrs ago

Is it worth it to delete the EGR? I don't run Cali.

 

I'm gunna have a local mechanic check but I don't trust any of them so trying to get opinions.

Truck just shut off again. Said low coolant. Coolant looked about half full so I waited 10 mins and then light went off. Checked it 30 miles later and coolant was almost to the top. Is it supposed to fluctuate? I was on a slight hill first time I checked. Looking from the outside the level can be decieving. It always looks way above the sensor but I can put a gallon of coolant in. I

 

Took to Freightliner. They put new sensor and harness. Light went away for half a day and now orange check engine light hi coolant is back on 24/7... And lo coolant light came back on after 2 days and shut truck off. I unplugged bottom harness and stuck with a paper clip. I'm driving today and trying to get back home like this. Coolant is def not low... It was overflowing earlier when I stopped and engine temp would go to 200.

Eng temp and pressure are good

Dealer will prolly charge another 800 and not fix it right again. It's gotta be electrical right?

Also, I'm not worried about the little sputtering/ smoke...I should change the topic title
