But isnt the hood part of the attraction to Petes and KW's? It is for me! The Lonestar is supposed to be as aeordynamic as any, but at least has the look of a classic styled truck,IMHO. Perhaps the best compromise, although the new KWT660's are pretty good too, scince we're talking of new trucks.

This is a great thread. Lots of info and made me stop and rethink what i want to buy and yes it was and still is a Pete 379 but with fuel as high as it is something slopped maybe in order unless fuel drops below 2.00 a gallon.

I'm always amazed at what re packaging can do for a product. Best example - everyone thought Gold Star electronics were a POS. Gold Star re named themselves LG. They aggressively marketed themselvees as LG - "Life's Good" and have become very successful not by changing their products (thought they did give them face lifts), they simply changed the public's perception of their product's quality.

P.S. A Walmart Pro Star with a 53ft van behind looks like a peanut pulling a pumpkin. I passed one today driving my Ford Excursion and was looking down at the driver... Pro Stars remind me of Roller Skates!

Yeah, it looks kool but I don't know. If you're gonna market something as the next best thing...make it, the next best thing! Kinda has the look of the older 40's Ford cars with the grill shaped that way. Definitely eye catching but...it'll look like everything else out here after 500k. Chrome will grey, paint on the fiberglass will start chipping, that cheap plastic chrome plating on the grill will peel and show the orange plastic underneath. I do my best to keep my truck nice outside but the road still has it's way.

I believe the photograph your showing us is a Lonstar. The Prostar is great looking also. I have seen only one Prostar. The look great in person as well as in the photos. I have not yet seen a Lonestar. There suppose to get the best mpg on the road, aren't they?
    :yes2557:

I look forward to hearing about any info on the mpg.

According to internationals website, they list them getting good mpg compared to the cascadia they test. I would like to hear a testimony from someone who owns one.

I love this thread as its interesting and gives good information. :biggrin_255:
