Are you really being negative about PrePass? That's one of the best things to happen to trucking and I've driven without one. Good God, I avoid probably 70% of scales with it.
500$ ticket, it is NOT reasonable

J/w, what would a reasonable amount be?
Seems like you feel its unreasonable because you didn't purposely blow the scale? Would you be ok with a lesser fine or would you have the same post with a different dollar amount in it? -
You must not have driven much with prepass in Virginia, or with any carrier on the watch list. It was very rare for me to get prepassed by the scales in either direction in Roanoke or Winchester on I 81 or those dang Scales on I 95 south of DC. I think overall I was lucky if my prepass gave me a green light half of the time anywhere.
As for automatics I drove both of them and I never felt that I could not feel my truck. I was always listening for anything strange or any funny vibration. I does appear that you don't like automatics or prepass, but honestly both have taken some of the work out of trucking, at least that has been my thoughts. -

Find some of these responses so amusing.....fight it, don't fight it, get a lawyer, don't get a lawyer......all over a newbie making a $ 500 "mistake".....while daydreaming.........when newbies.....or even you "Professional" drivers make a mistake it typically costs we insurers a heck of a lot more than $ 500.....all the way up to multiple comma numbers.
Pay your fine and move on and be thankful a newbie lesson ONLY cost you $ 500spyder7723 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
$500 is is the fine in Louisiana for any commercial vehicle running the scale. I would have thought that there would be other penalties they could have tacked on too. Hazmat normally has the biggest fines in the business.Straight Stacks Thanks this.

I don't like posting information I am not sure about. It is my understanding that just across the mighty Mississippi river in Vicksburg the fine for running those scales is over $1500.
-
Thankfully you didn't block the entrance to dunkins or Starbucks or you would still be paying the fine lol

They ha vent ran me down yet so I can't say either
