Me is thinking that the company may get a visit from some auditors with a record like the driver has had. They better hope that they have all the paperwork in order. Gonna hurt an outfit that has 4 trucks and drivers.

On the other hand, with the inspections that they have had, they need to be off the road anyhow. In my observations of the industry you need to own the truck and drive it yourself or you need to have 10 or more trucks. Anything in between and they do not seem to have the money to fix the trucks.

A friend of mine had 4 trucks last year and could not make it work out and now is down to 1 on the road.

After reading this story I'm very angry sad and heartbroken.I don't know how this truck driver can live with himself knowing what he done.I suspect this isn't the first first he drove trk while intoxicated.I hope he spends the rest of his life behind bars.

What a terrible tragedy, particularly since it took something so heartbreaking to get that P.O.S off of the roads.
I sure hope he gets put in front of a hard ### Texas judge who then nails him to the wall!

These stories are heartbreaking. While looking for any further info on this, I found an equally tragic scene in Conroe, TX just a few days earlier this week (no semi involved)....

Authorities have identified the victims of a fiery head-on collision in Montgomery County this week that killed four people, including the parents of three young children.

The state Department of Public Safety on Thursday identified the deceased as 51-year-old Kelly Jean Pennock and 23-year-old Casey Nicole Harrell, who were traveling in a Toyota Tundra with a child who survived; and 26-year-old Jesus Moreno, Jr., and 25-year-old Maria I. Ibarra, who were in a Chevrolet Tahoe with three children. All four children were seriously injured and transported to area hospitals.

The two-vehicle crash on FM 3083 at Albert Moorehead Road southeast of Conroe occurred at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the DPS accident report. The accident scene is about two miles southeast of Texas 336, the loop around Conroe.

A Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Harrell and going southeast crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a Chevy Tahoe driven by Moreno and traveling northwest on the road. The Tundra was traveling at a high rate of speed and was attempting to pass in a no-passing zone when it struck the Tahoe head-on, witnesses told law enforcement.

The Toyota Tundra burst into flames, killing Pennock and Harrell. A child in the car was removed by either EMS or witnesses before the car caught fire, Trooper Erik Burse said earlier this week. That child was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands, but the child's condition could not be determined Thursday.

The three Moreno children were taken by ground transportation to Memorial Hermann Hospital downtown. They were in fair condition Thursday, according to hospital spokeswoman Kathryn Williams.

"This is a preventable crash," Burse said earlier this week. "This did not have to happen."

Burse was not available Thursday to address other questions.

A gofundme site has been set up to benefit the three children in the Tahoe who lost their parents, and to help with funeral expenses for the adults. The site identified the children as Robert 2, and twins Isay and Jonathan, 1. The site had raised $5585 from 111 people as of Thursday afternoon.
