Depends on what compensation you are asking about. Loss of use of the truck will not be paid unless you have it as an additional coverage, neither will a rental truck. Personal injury will vary depending on the state you are domiciled (live) in, the coverage stated in your policy, and your taxable income (in the case of workers comp or disability).

I was involved in a serious crash,my lowboy was rear ended by a car.Disabled my trailer for several weeks, was in the shop. Was the cars(driver)100% at fault. His insurance company agreed to downtime, wanted to see 3 months prior earnings. They averaged it out to a day by day cost, and paid accordingly. Also paid 100% of the repairs.

If you have a policy that covers injury while working, they you usually have a limit of how mucy they pay. It will be based on how much you make on a average. They also require you to be out of work for so long before they pay. They don't pay in advance.

Thats pretty much how mine is going. A mega carrier driver backed into my truck and had 6 weeks of down time. They only wanted to pay $150 a day.

Hired lawyer.. showed my gross income for previous 90 days, plus expenses. Worked out an average. Mega is self insured so they dragged things out. Goes to a final hearing in May and judge will decided what they will pay. Lawyer is confident I will see 100% compensation of lost revinue.

    Atta Boy Hurst..

These Self-Insured Mega's think they can do what they want
They fail to understand that OTHERS have deep pockets and lots of time also.
