Hey all! I just moved to Florida a couple months ago, and haven't been able to change my license or renew my medical (ran out of money) and I've noticed that it's a little difficult to get local jobs around here because of it. So I'm stretching out to bog companies once again.
Does anyone know of truck companies based out of northern Florida (Lake City area) that will allow me to be home every day, or at least weekends? I have one year and seven months verifiable experience and would prefer a pet friendly company, but will settle for one that doesn't allow pets as I know I'm in a difficult situation.
Thanks all!

cypress truck lines say that they guarantee you home time every weekend. worth looking into

I can't imagine there being many driving opportunities there, especially local work. You might have to look for companies in larger cities like Jacksonville, Orlando or Tampa. I know Lessors and Heyl have terminals around Lakeland. Swift has one in Ocala. Don't know if they'd get you home every weekend though.

Yes, Comcar is a place to start. One guy that used to post on here went with Comcar in Jacksonville and is home daily.
Also try:
Columbia Grain Inc. - home daily
Waste Management
Cardinal Logistics
Republic Services
Davis Express
Florida Rock & Tank
Check the temp. services:
Centerline Drivers
TopGear LogisticsGiuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this. -
Cardinal Logistics , I think requires 2 years exp. but I could be wrong. Maybe it's only here in the Bay Area

If you able to get HAZMAT call EAGLE Transport, I have seen only daycabs running around delivering fuel.
They need 2 years, but if they need drivers , they might close eye's on thay 1.7 year.

Chinatown, what company would you recommend for somebody that has been out of a truck for roughly two years? I am looking for dry van or reefer and out no more than ten days. Prefer to run the midwest, Texas, or west coast. No northeast. What company would work with me on the no recent experience issue? I would not mind going out with a trainer for a week or two but not six or eight weeks.
