I second that. Personally I'd go with a gold dot. I see suicide if you're in constant pain. But there's always tomorrow. I remember reading about survivors of suicide jumps. They all said that they instantly realized everything in their life could be fixed... Except the jump.

It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
I agree on the terminal illness part. If someone is going to die some awful death, the writing is on the wall, then I could see it.

    Nobody. Stop snitching.

Seriously, are you really qualified to decide whether this guy truly has psychological problems? Do you have actual evidence/personal, first-hand knowledge that he has attempted suicide in the past?

I would suggest you make sure your facts and evidence are solid (not rumor and hearsay) before you go talking recklessly and messing up someone's life.

If you are a Officer in a Trucking Company employing a unstable person and these are facts then why are you still employing him?

    Cut him loose.

If not? You might be recovering his assigned rig off say the New River Gorge after he takes the big fall or something.

Life is a painful existence for those who suffer it, to burn by the sun until the night. But there is Joy in being able to live because that is how we are built. We keep going. Anyone who tried more than once to take themselves out should not be in a 18 wheeler at all. What are you doing? Get him out of there.

I hope you close the book neatly before something does happen within your company and escalates beyond reason.

Same thing with that guy from Dick Simon that ran in to that building in Sacramento, they let him go, and then put him back on, knowing well that he had problems, another great decision made by them!!

My first wife threatened suicide a few times. I got sick of it and told her it was put up or shut up time. Do it or shut up about it.

Any company would fire this guy and let his next employer worry about his suicide attempts. They have way too much invested in the company to trust him on the road and risk losing everything. This industry looks out and worries about themselves first and foremost so therfore I find this story to be a hard pill to swallow so to speak.
