You only paid NM state income tax...the state of your residency. Here in CA (and many other states) State Disability Insurance is required, and the company is only required to deduct from employees wages the cost of carrying the insurance for each driver (employee)...this deduction is shown on our W2 in one of the boxes for "Local Tax"....the county and city I reside in doesn't have any local tax, but where the company is headquartered (Los Angeles) there is both a county and a city tax. Our employees that reside within this "tax zone" pay into these local taxes, but those who don't ...don't!

Don't tell me what I don't remember!
MidWest_MacDaddy and otherhalftw Thank this. -
But this way...I can make up whatever I want and you can't prove me wrong! You really were something else at that strip bar the other night....I can't go into detail....but you can plead the 5th!

tucker and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
If you don't remember it at all... Guess you'll have to go back and thoroughly search for clues....
-
My mom remembered that sort of thing.otherhalftw Thanks this.

Not sure if you're implying you took your mom TO the strip club, told her about it when you got home, or, worst case scenario, she was at work and saw you....
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
Talking about remembering my taxes.

If you have a mailing address in Ga OR your employer is based in Ga, you will have to pay Ga Income Tax.
If you live in Texas but your employer is based in Ga, you will have to pay Ga income tax and then file in GA as a non resident to get a refund back or pay additional taxes as may be the case.
If you live in Ga but your employer is based in TN, he will have to take Ga state tax out on you.
TN also has no state income tax.
This is based on my own personal experience.Last edited: Apr 25, 2016
