Just curious - is your rig a 379?- what you described fits mine exactly, though I've found the turning radius isn't as bad as one would think, based on the wheelbase.

the top bunk is not verry high in the new petes it is simalar to the older pete except that it has doors on the cabinets.
the upper bunk has alot more space and is not like a coffin like the old petes
It is better but I still prefer the freightliners because I can sir up in the beds in it.

You know I think I did hear the mechanic say that it was. They wanted to switch trucks on me and put me in a freightliner because this one needs fixing. All their trucks are old and have big square noses. For some reason that freaks me out. I feel like its bigger, for sure the nose is bigger. But the pete's wheelbase is shorter (or so I was told) then their freighliner. I sure don't want a longer truck, I don't care how small mine is. Maybe it is the same length as a volvo. I am just freaked out buy the longer nose and the fact that its so much older :biggrin_25519: I am still getting used to it and may find that its not that bad. Another thing is that the stacks are right behind the door. I hate that. I hang my head out the window when I back. Now I can't see anything, the stacks block my view. But I have found things about it that I like and I don't mind driving it. It looks very unique. Can't mistake me for one of a million swift trucks.

LOL - yeah, I used to hang my head out, too - particularly on a sharp back. Now I use the mirrors a lot more, and if I have to, I stop and get out.

I've seen other 379 drivers hang out the door to back.. that's just not in my make up, though.

Another thing it does is make me plan my back ahead of time. As they say, it's all about the setup. In a lot of situations, the setup can be pretty ... well, sloppy, and you'll still bang the dock with no problems. Other times, though - you gotta sit for a moment and think. I feel the 379 enforces this a bit )at least, with me(.
