Suicidal trucker

She sounds like who use to be a very close friend of mine.I got sick of her dying wolf and pity parties.It was over a guy who was also a good friend of mine.I got sick of her putting me in the middle of it so I told her I didn't wanna hear if anymore.

 

The other thing is, the actual numbers of folks actually contemplating suicide as we speak is probably huge...And its totally hidden and nobody knows

Thankfully, most of us arent batcrap crazy..I worry about some of the middle eastern guys Im seeing, but aside from them, us CDL packin super haulin oversize all day long roadmasters are pretty on point folk..Sure we have our bums and tards, but all in all, were a pretty solid group..Point being, hearing about one unhinged dood should be no big deal, like, per capita....lol

 

Yeah, we must be a wears of thems theres door openers.

 

Maybe police, county health department, supervisor, owner? Someone should intervene while this person can still be saved.

 

Kicking the can down the road so to speak. No longer our problem, let someone else take the heat for it when the deed is finally done. While the root of the suicidal feelings should always be found and corrected accordingly, I often wonder how things would go if euthanasia was decriminalized in most places?

Some people had a dream or an idea of hitting it big in some other area. But reality caught up with them and now they're having to settle for whatever it is they're doing right now. If the person is that serious about ending it all due to the thought of a hum-drum existence all their lives, then show them the right door to the one-way clinic.

Humane, cost-effective, and unlike the more disastrous forms of suicide, being put-to-sleep in a controlled environment would take most of the drama element out of the whole thing.

I've had thoughts like this before throughout life and finally decided that being a thorn in others sides and challenging one to a theoretical boxing match is much funner than "opting out". That said, dueling and legalized fisticuff matches should be brought back in addition to legalizing the Kevorkian method.
Who knows, having another valid form of anger outlet and release without the threat of incarceration would actually make the suicidal thoughts go down in many.

 

If I was this employer of course I'd do my best to find him help.Whether he follows the advice given only he would know.But no way no how would I let him drive.I would have to let him go then later on If he has sought help and proof of that then I would consider hiring him back.If he applied somewhere else without seeking help first that's his business and hope and pray to God he doesn't kill himself or anyone else but I'm not his babysitter to watch him24/7.I would hope the future employer calls me because you bet I would tell them he's suicidal.

 

Follow-ups are always a good thing. It would no doubt cast some sort of cloud over ones head that you or someone else might've been the last person they had a full on conversation with. Then again, I too would be leery of them being out on the road with those thoughts. No one else around to really keep an eye out, so a sudden missing persons report could turn out to be nothing more than an "I think I know what really happened."

Stick the poor soul in a wash-bay, or loading dock, or some other sociable work environment where the issues won't go unnoticed for long.

 

My uncle committed suicide by hanging because his wife left him.My moms friends husband killed himself by drinking rat poisoning,his overwhelming debt got the best of him.Nobody knew with either case this was coming till they read the suicide note.

 

Some times people do put on a pretty good show to cover up what they're really feeling. They want to remain strong in the face of adversity, yet feel as nothing could really be done about it behind closed doors. But after awhile, these incidents have now fallen under a "watch dog" list so to speak.

Apart from suicide, there's also that sudden interest in reckless behavior that comes about. Getting one's self so close to the edge of death that it doesn't appear to be suicide at first glance. IE,. riding a motorcycle down HWY 2 in LA County at high speeds, or something to that effect.

Just more things to watch out for.
