Ok yes their math doesnt add up. In their add it says "up to 60k per year". I think I will be lucky if I see 30 cents a mile. Yet this is par for my experience. I am well familiar with what is and isnt paid. I figure I will be well ahead if I get 800 a week. Even at 600 a week I am ahead.
I am not considering SNI because of the money. I am considering them as the last time I turned miles was in 2008. SNI is the only company that will turn me loose with out a trainer. It is for that reason that I am not looking at other companies. NOT the pay.
I would like to restart with Schneider

I dont think it will be as low as that. .34 or so with a possible .02 premium for northeast drivers(used to anyway for ne regional drivers)
lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
Some one mentioned there are shoes that come with the job? I looked at SNI's store. I didnt see any boots or anything listed. Did they change their mind on the footwear? I am gathering the deductions mentioned in another reply is for clothing? What more can I expect to be paying for? The shirts?

if chosen boots are issued at orientation. was $25? 4 years ago. after that every year they will pay for a new pair. driver portal has a link thst directs you to the boot place.
uniforms not required unless you are bulk or on certain dedicated accounts. shirts are issued for those at no cost.
you choose to purchase thats on you.

What amenities come with the truck? CB? Yes I have one, just trying to figure out if I must bring it or not. Fridge? Microwave? I realize I may have to get a microwave once I get my own truck. Are the inverters that come with the truck still 1500 watt? Or did they do away with inverters?
I tell ya, I am ready to go now if it were not for my obligations that I have to my loyal customers. Summer of 2017 they may have to find some one else. 2 of them I have had since 1985. Really nice big lawns, $90 pay for a hour of work. -
No amenities but I've heard some of the newer trucks have inverters. Most drivers carry a coleman cooler. They are pretty good. The trucks are well maintained. I like your reasons for choosing Schneiderlovesthedrive Thanks this.

All new trucks are coming in with factory installed 1500 watt inverters. Need to come aboard and look through their wattage chart before you go buying things. This is assuming of course that you get a new truck during onboarding.
mindes Thanks this. -
I didn't see anything in there about 'bulk'. The ad says it could be be for van, flatbed, reefer, etc.. It is my understanding that these drivers would be moving anywhere in the country to fill in for other drivers on vacation, drivers that called in sick after eating a cheeseburger, or maybe where they just need additional drivers.
I know that 'up to $1450' rate is dependent on experience to an extent, but seriously, the lower your pay rate is the better deal it is for you since the stipends are a set amount. If you are a driver that is only grossing $800 a week and someone offers you a 50% raise for your 4th week out and longer, are you going to decline it?
I'm still hoping to get on with Schneider but my training is not going very well at all. They have openings at a location that is close to me and fits my desired schedule perfectly. I'm also interested in their Choice program but doing that would be somewhat dependent on the economy, which isn't doing so well. That 'National Dedicated' opening provides good money for a 6 month CDL holder with zero risk and that would be a great alternative if I would decide against trying the Choice program.Last edited: Apr 30, 2016
